Finding a coffee shop that satisfies your caffeine cravings while also accommodating your little ones can be challenging in the bustling Times Square area. As a parent of two who's always on the hunt for great coffee, I've tested numerous spots to bring you this curated list of truly family-friendly cafes.
The following five coffee shops meet all these criteria while serving exceptional coffee - a true rarity in the tourist-heavy Times Square area. Each has been personally tested with my kids (ages 2 and 5) multiple times.
A whimsical coffee shop designed with families in mind, featuring a small play area with books and toys, plus exceptional organic coffee roasted in-house.
Honey Cinnamon Latte & Banana Bread
Industrial-chic spot with a mesmerizing pneumatic tube system that delivers freshly roasted beans to the barista. Kids love watching the show while parents enjoy some of the freshest coffee in NYC.
Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee & Chocolate Croissant
Sophisticated yet surprisingly kid-friendly, this coffee bar offers premium espresso drinks alongside fresh-baked cookies that are perfect for little hands. The back area often has space for strollers.
Flat White & Chocolate Chip Cookie
The minimalist Times Square outpost of this famous chain offers consistently excellent coffee and a surprisingly welcoming atmosphere for families during off-peak hours.
New Orleans Iced Coffee & Avocado Toast
Despite the name, this local favorite is actually quite cheerful toward families during weekday mornings. Known for their meticulous coffee preparation and cozy atmosphere.
Heartbreaker Espresso & Almond Croissant
All five coffee shops are conveniently located within a 15-minute walk from Times Square, making them perfect pit stops during your family's NYC adventures.
Weekday mornings (9-11am) are ideal for families, as these spots get crowded with office workers during lunch hours.
All locations are within 2 blocks of major subway lines (1,2,3,A,C,E,N,Q,R,W,7). Stroller accessibility varies by station.
Fold your stroller if possible during peak hours. Little Bean and Culture Espresso have the most stroller space.
